Hi ! Boards are very crucial tests that direct us and our future career. The results we get in our boards is what actually becomes the 'visiting card' of our parents ;). Many of the students lose hope too when you are just left out with the preparatory leaves, but my dear friends do not panic ! Here are some tips that would help you score great, in a short period of time. Mind that you are still having 30 days, that means you are having 720 hours, which further means you are having 4320 mins, which means you are having 25920 secs !!So why are you getting discouraged ? Begin your journey right now.
1. Read thoroughly what is important
Boards are not about reading and mugging everything there is in your textbooks, especially when it comes to Social Science, English and Hindi. If you once go through the past year papers, you will notice one amazing thing, THE QUESTIONS REPEAT. There are only some selected topics from which questions are asked. One can ace boards by smart work combined with hard work. Board examinations do not require any donkey work.
You may use books of publication like Oswaal and Arihant. These are highly reliable and provide content upto the mark and nothing waste. Oswaal CBSE Unsolved Papers Chapterwise and Topicwise Question Bank is a highly recommendable book.
2. Stop following too many reference books
If you follow a crowd of authors , you'll end up just getting confused. Also it is not necessary that you'll succeed in getting the most out of those books. Instead it is recommended that you to follow some standard books. You may follow two books for each subject, one question based type book and other content based book. For example, U-Like is a good question -based type books, you can follow Xam Idea too. You can find many content based books in the market, based on your preference.
3. Prepare your grammar portion before the exam
It is advisable to prepare your grammar portion for Hindi and English before the exam comes to head. Grammar requires practice, it is advisable to do at least five questions of grammar of each subject each day.If your grammar is ready before hand, it becomes really easy to cope up with the pressure of completing syllabus. Also, grammar is one of the most scoring part of the question paper, for just writing precise, short answer you can bag a lot.
4. Improve vocabulary
Writing section of language paper is where many students often lose marks. It is judicious that you read books and improve vocabulary. Another important thing people are unaware of is that using idioms and phrases in your writing section bags you marks. So learn some idioms and synonyms of commonly used words to avoid repetition of words. Remember that the repetition of words may spoil your impression and you may look quite dumb to the person checking your answer sheet.
5.Practice past year papers
While exams are close, it is preferable that you practice past year question papers. This will give you a really good idea about the level of paper, the presentation of answers and time management. Many sites offer crash courses for boards too you may practice that too as this may give you a close analysis of your weak points.
6.Do not forget to practice Mathematics
Mathematics is strictly not the last moment subject. Practice it everyday, 1.5 hours (90 mins) of practice is recommendable.R.D Sharma and R.S Aggrawal are standard books, furthur you can use U-Like and Xam Idea too.
7.Do not ignore Science diagrams.
People often make messy and unlabeled diagrams often in Science exams. DO practice all the diagrams, focus on neatly drawing them, if you are not good in drawing then you may refer to some tricks of drawing certain diagrams on YouTube.
